Attending the RHS Four Corners Cultural Emersion Trip

EDGE Project Plan Overview

Resources:

Immunizations and Medical proper medical skills training. My future RHS group members. Scrubs, and proper medical attire.

Risk Assessment:

Risk level will be high. I will be working at shelters and clinics so proper sanitation and care should be used while interacting with patients. Risk of bodily fluid diseases as well as air and water. Working with needles and biohazardous waste and materials.

Timeline:

Start Date: 03/11/18

Milestone #2 Update my flu shots and vaccinations at the hospital 03/08/18

Milestone #3 Certify at motor pool for van license 03/08/18

Documentation Plan:

I am planning on writing all experiences in a journal after every day. I will also take pictures throughout to compile.

Obstacles:

External:

·       Trip and travel delay

·       Shadowing dates falling through

Personal

·       Being able to maintain proper composure in a high stress, high risk environment.

·       Performing all medical screenings properly

Pre-Project Reflection:

I am extremely excited to head to the four corners and discover a new and different culture and place. I look forward to working with others as a team to help sharpen my skills in the medical field. I also look forward to shadowing with the doctors in the area and to see the rigor of their day to day work life. I can’t wait to start, I just want to jump right in!
